Scott H. Holan is Professor of Statistics and Public Affairs and Department Chair. He also serves as a Senior Research Fellow in the Office of the Associate Director for Research and Methodology (Research and Methodology Directorate) at the US Census Bureau. His research focuses on developing statistical and statistical machine learning methodology for dependent data (spatial, spatio-temporal, functional, and multivariate, among others), Bayesian methods, official statistics, and survey methodology. He is an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS), Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). He serves on the editorial board for several leading statistics journals. Prof. Holan received his PhD in Statistics from Texas A&M University.
